Our overall aim with this group is that we’d each be encouraged, edified and equipped to continue pressing on in our spiritual callings, in our families and throughout our communities.

Someone shared in the survey they were looking for, “Community, space to learn, listen, grow, share. A space to be open, honest, vulnerable, and transparent about all things related to adoption.”

FELLOWSHIP LAUNCH JAN 2022: Based on a poll of 20 adoptive parents/families, I’ve crafted a space that will speak to the needs you voiced in the survey, and will be launching Jan 2022. We’ll be meeting virtually on Zoom at the following times, once per month, through the entire year of 2022: Wednesdays daytime: 12:00-1:30pm CST (10:00am PST / 1:00pm EST) Jan 19, Feb 16, Mar 9, April 6, May 4, Jun 8, July 6, Aug 10, Sep 7, Oct 5, Nov 2, Dec 7.

GROUP SIZE: To preserve a reasonable group atmosphere where we can develop meaningful connections, this particular cohort will have space for 15-20 adoptive/foster parents.

CONTENT: This group will be a space for caregivers who identify as members of the local Christian church (I realize there are many iterations of and interactions with that term, and you’re all welcomed here!). There will be a semi-structured feel as I offer monthly themes, it’s also going to be flexible in the sense the floor will be open to discuss any current or pressing needs you’d like to share with the group. We’ll be going through Dear White Peacemakers (each person will buy this on their own), I’ll also be referencing lessons from my training at Rooted: Gospel Centered Parenting for Struggling Families and Be The Bridge TRA Guide: Foundational Principles for Healthy Cross-race Parenting.

SAMPLE MEETING AGENDA: 1) Opening prayer, 2) read through material together and/or discuss chapters from the book, 3) break into groups or stay together and walk through Cam’s discussion guide for that month, 4) spend time talking with and hearing from one another, 5) Q&A with Cam, 6) closing prayer in group or individually. This feels like “Observation Interpretation Application,” it’s not exactly that but we’ll be mapping that framework onto our time together.
