From a therapeutic and personal lens, I moderate the space for your team to process the here-and-now of their lived experiences.

Many of us spend the majority of our day in workplace settings. Whether online or in person, there is a strange lack of genuine recognition of how being a person of color shapes the quality of that daily condition. Oddly, many employers have yet to honor the sorrows and joys of that lived experience and continue to expect world class performance, as if each of our specific human narratives is left at the door when we get to work.
We’re at a moment in history when atrocities committed against people of color are publicized more than ever before. Although spaces like these have always been essential, with the dawn of Zoom and other digital platforms, they’ve never been more accessible.
Workplace Open Forums is your chance to create a better space for your team. That brave and honest room, for folks under your charge and peers walking beside you, in which they can be. With one another. Support one another. Process identities. Reflect on current events. Give voice to their struggles and celebrations in constructive ways, also with permission to decide what “constructive” means for themselves. Suffering and refuge cannot just be something we check at the door when we leave our personal spaces. If we are to work together, it must be in a setting in which we are allowed to bring our full selves, expecting that all of us would be valued, protected and guided toward the best that’s yet to come.
